City air is especially harmful to pregnant women

City air is especially harmful to pregnant women Harmful emissions are a threat to the health of any person, but particularly at risk are pregnant. It is due to air pollution every 20 minutes in case of pre-eclampsia, as scientists have found.

Researchers from the Swedish University of Umea found that inhaling noxious fumes into the atmosphere more than any other pregnant women face the risk from deadly complication preeclampsia . Especially dangerous air pollution   for those pregnant women who suffer from asthma. In this case there is often observed an increased blood pressure and fluid accumulation.

Harmful emissions are responsible for every 20th case preeclampsia . Due to the high levels of ozone Air Pollution   also increases the risk of premature birth, and that is the birth of premature babies. In the UK alone each year due to preeclampsia dies at 600-odd children. The only chance of salvation in such cases, it is only an emergency cesarean section.

Swedish researchers followed the 121 thousand births in Stockholm during the period from 1998 to 2006. Then record compared with national statistics on the level of asthma among young mothers, as well as levels of ozone air pollution and car exhaust in different parts of Stockholm. 4, 4% of pregnancies ended in premature birth, and 2, 7% of pre-eclampsia. There was a clear link between this disorder and the level of air pollution in the first three months of pregnancy. Mother with asthma because of the harmful emissions by 25% more likely to give birth prematurely and children 10% more likely to have encountered with pre-eclampsia. (READ MORE)
