Men without children are more sad and depressed than childless women. Such surprising to many is the conclusion, researchers from the British Keele University.
Men need children because of cultural, social and family pressure, while women cited as the main causes of personal desire and biological need. Overall, the researchers found that 59% of men and 63% of women want to have children. Amongst childless men half feels lonely, and among childless women those only 27%.
38% childless men experiencing feelings of depression (women suffering from it are also 27%). Every fourth man without children is faced with its own manifestations of aggressiveness (18% in childless women ), 56% of men experience sadness (43% women). But if 16% of the fair sex, not having children, because of the feeling of guilt, the men there was no such at all.
This is the first scientific study which found that childless men and women are equally keen to have heirs. Previously, it was assumed that the absence of children is much more difficult to experienced women, because society requires them to perform maternal duty.
