Study participants were engaged in aerobic exercise equivalent to running a total distance of about 20 km per week to the heartbeat at 80% of maximum. Exercises with weight did not allow participants to make significant progress in the fight against subcutaneous fat in the abdomen and liver. A combination of two types of exercise produces the same effect as aerobic exercise alone.
