The puzzle of green tea: Why it protects against cancer

The puzzle of green tea: Why it protects against cancer Green tea may reduce the risk of neoplastic diseases of the intestine, the stomach and throat in women. This is the conclusion, researchers from Vanderbilt University in Canada.

Canadian researchers found that women between the ages who use green tea   at least three times a week, 14% less risk of becoming a victim of cancer of the digestive system. This applies primarily to cancer of the colon, stomach and throat. The researchers observed the 69 thousands of Chinese women for a long time.

The results of observations, published in the journal American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found a convincing link between green tea   and prevention of cancer. In recent years, the scientific community hotly debate about whether the impact drink to reduce the risk of cancer. There are studies that confirm this assumption, but there are those who have found no connection between tea and the risk of tumors.

However, the authors of the current study can not say whether the reason for reducing the risk of cancer of the digestive system itself is green tea. Because of the high concentration of healthy antioxidants, this drink has beneficial effects on the human body as a whole. However, observations of participants did not drink, and do not abuse alcohol. To exclude other risk factors, scientists took into account the diet of women, the number of sporting loads, weight and overall health.

Even net of all these things, green tea is still reduced by 14% for women the risk of tumors of the digestive system, although this type of research and can not figure out the exact cause of the exposure of the beverage on the female body.
