The researchers studied 6000 children born between April 2001 and March 2006, and lived in the southeast of Finland. In children, the 11-week period which fell in the period of April and May, food allergies   developed in 11% of cases. Children with the December-January period, fallen to 11 weeks, the risk was only 6%.

These studies are published in the journal Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.
