So-called crash diets more effective in reducing obesity among the victims of obesity than gradual and less intensive modes of supply. This is the conclusion of researchers University of Melbourne in Australia.

Australian scientists watched 200 obese people, half of whom could lose 12, 5% of body weight for 12 weeks, while the other half did the same for 36 weeks. The researchers found that 8 out of 10 people who agreed to a fast weight loss achieved this goal, as compared with only around 50% adhering to a more relaxed diet.
But the number of people who regained the lost weight after 3 years, the two groups were the same - 71%.
