In medicine, cupping returns

In medicine, cupping returns Very soon a routine visit to the doctor will come to an end for many people donating blood. And not for analysis, and to reduce the risk of various diseases.

Once widely used in ancient times bloodletting   suddenly again become relevant in science. Although this method is branded as totally ineffective and even shameful in the 19th century, today it is called a potentially powerful prevention of hypertension and high cholesterol. And some believe that bloodletting can protect the body and cancer.

In some ways, bloodletting   already used in British hospitals as a treatment for ulcerative colitis and other intestinal diseases. For centuries it was used to reduce the risk of illnesses because physicians of antiquity believed that the disease may be caused by an excess of blood in the body. And now a study on 60 patients with excess weight showed that the bleeding reduces blood pressure and helps to reduce and level of "bad" cholesterol while increasing "good".

The findings astonished the authors of the Immanuel Hospital in Berlin. They, of course, assumed that the bloodletting provides some health benefits, but could not imagine how strong. Half of the patients during the observation period shared with the doctors a small amount of blood (450 ml - comparable to the donor indicators) twice for six weeks.

By the end of observation outside the blood pressure in these patients, on average, fell by 18 mm Hg. column, which is two times more than the use of modern medicine. This study was based on a well-known statistic that shows that blood donors have lower cholesterol, they rarely faced with heart disease and stroke. Other studies have shown that diabetics improves blood sugar levels when they regularly donate blood.
