The researchers based their findings on the basis of the analysis of hair color 4000 men and women of different ages and ethnic groups from 20 different countries. Overall, 74% of people aged 45 to 65 had gray hair, covering at least 27% of the scalp. Gray level increases with age, and in the period from 56 to 60 and 86% already have any gray hair, and from 61 to 65 at 90% gray hair people occupy at least 40% of the head.

Wherein gray   more common in men (78%) than women (71%). In the stronger sex, it usually starts on the forehead, then goes to the top and from there to the back of the head, and women in equal proportions on the forehead and at the nape.
