Men are more prone to excessive overeating. This is the conclusion dietitian Medical College of the University of Maryland (USA) Jane Yakubchik.
Excessive food intake - is a manifestation of psychogenic Bulimia (an eating disorder). By itself, this pathology does not occur too often. But nutritionists note the steady growth of this phenomenon in the past thirty years. As suggested by Jane Yakubchik reason psychogenic Bulimia have stronger sex - a popular image of a man in society - Superman. He is strong, has impressive muscles. Many young men take such a character as a model. But not all get fit him. Someone manages to make himself a superhero likeness, most leave the idea. But some people get used to overeat, even overeating, and can not handle it on their own. Complicating the situation is the fact that men are much less likely to turn to the experts - psychologists and nutritionists.
The alarming situation has led to the creation of the Medical College of the University of Maryland special education programs for young men. These programs are based on the nutrition and psychology. Their goal - to help in solving psychological problems associated with the regular overeating and obesity.
