British scientists have found that lullabies not only allow to lull the baby, but also reduce the level of pain that he experiences in case of indisposition. So it's fine tradition of our ancestors to modern parents need to revive.
lullabies
Researchers in the experiment performed lullabies the group of children younger than three years old, who were waiting for a heart transplant operation. In parallel, the kids measured heart rate and pain perception. The findings were compared with two other groups of children, one of which the young patients to read fairy tales and the other did not touch them at all.
It turned out that only in the group with lullabies was recorded a marked decrease in pain as well as the rhythm of the heartbeat. As suggested by the study's author, Professor David Hargreaves, science in this case confirms the correctness of parental intuition. For centuries our ancestors sang lullabies to their children, to calm them down.
Research shows that music has a psychological impact on the child. Well, music therapy, as easy to guess, is a much cheaper and safer alternative than drug therapy. And though researchers were singing lullabies to the children in English, we can assume that our good songs will help to achieve the same effect in the fight against pain. (READ MORE)
