Communication - the key to longevity Popular and sociable people are living longer, as scientists have found. Therefore, a loving family and lots of friends - this is another way to achieve longevity.

Maintaining a healthy social relationships with family, friends, neighbors or colleagues at work may increase a person's chances to move into the category of centenarians   as much as 50%. This is the conclusion, researchers from Brigham Young University, headed by Professor of Psychology Julianne Hol-Lanstad.

But what threatens the hermit and secluded life? According to the degree of negative impact on our health it is equal to 15 cigarettes a day, alcohol and refrain from any athletic activity. And even more than that - to be a hermit twice more harmful than be overweight.

"The essence of our study is that the level of Social Relations   a person may be recorded as one of the risk factors for early mortality - says Hol-Lanstad. - It's still not widely accepted by the public and the health sector. When a man is associated with a group of other people when he feels responsible for them, it gives his life added meaning and incentive. And such a person starts to better take care of yourself, it is less risk. "

The researchers examined data on 148 previous studies measured the level of human sociability and how it relates to health. This relationship was monitored for seven and a half years.

It was found that the more open and sociable people are 50% more likely to be centenarians . However, as it evolved their communication, scientists have not figured out.
