Clinical trials of a new drug for breast cancer is successful, the researchers reported. This medication is addressed to patients with the very "fatal" gene ", which found Angelina Jolie.
a cure for cancer
American pharmaceutical company BioMarin Pharmaceutical is conducting clinical trials of a new Cancer Drugs BMN 673, directed precisely to help these patients who have "fatal genes." Moreover, the drug is designed to treat cancer and not for the prevention of disease. During the first phase of clinical trials on humans, which was conducted in the UK and the US, a cure for cancer obtained about 70 patients with different types of cancer, including breast and ovarian tumors.
BMN 673 promotes DNA repair in cancer cells, allowing you to attack tumors that have become vulnerable in the genetic mutations. According to the research we found out that the most significant progress was observed just in those patients whose tumors were associated with the presence of gene mutations BRCA. We responded well to treatment 11 of 25 patients with ovarian cancer, and 7 of 18 patients with breast cancer, who had BRCA gene mutation. Clinical signs of improvement were seen in some other patients.
BRCA-cell mutation reduces the possibility to recover DNA, which leads to a significant increase in the risk of developing cancer. (READ MORE)
