British scientists have discovered how the immune system behaves in mice that were infected with various infections. It was found that in male and female animals it responds to different viruses.
Dr. Ramona Scotland, University of London Queen Mary and colleagues conducted a study on infected mice, in which the experts analyzed the content of white blood cells in the lungs and stomach, to ensure the body's first line of defense against viral infections . It was found that females was approximately twice more white blood cells as compared to males. Moreover, the cells of females respond more quickly and effectively to pathogens with them struggling - in all cases of infection of the female rodents carry diseases better than males.
This study, according to scientists, suggesting that the male body initially moves viral infections harder than women, it is the oldest of all mammalian immune response. That is, this principle also applies to people.
Meanwhile, judging by the polls, men's complaints of feeling unwell during cold wives often perceived as somewhat exaggerated. Scientists note that such an attitude could be wrong - men really hard to carry diseases such as catarrhal purely biological.
