Summer resident infected with parasites from the tree

With unusual case faced recently experts of the Moscow Research Institute of Eye Diseases Helmholtz operated on 40-year resident of the Moscow region.

As reported in the department of eye injuries, the man at his dacha chopping wood with an ax .  At some point, one of the splinters hit him in the right eye .  Body of severe swelling and pain appeared .  The man immediately turned to local ophthalmologists, and they gave him a drop of which he was treated for two weeks .  But the drug did not help .  Desperate, the poor fellow came to the Moscow Research Institute of Eye Diseases .  Helmholtz .  Here experts carefully examined the patient and concluded that he had a cyst the inner corner of the eye .  Surgeons have suspected that within the cyst is a wooden foreign body, so it was decided to remove it .  What was the surprise of doctors, when, having opened a cyst, they found inside it a few living parasites! As experts have determined it was filaria - worms that carry blood-sucking insects .  Rather, the eggs of these parasites are in chips, which injured the man's eyes .

According to experts, the patient was very fortunate parasites removed in time. Worms can penetrate into the orbit of the eye, to get into the vessel and then disperse throughout the body. A few days after the operation the patient was discharged home.
